Aww. I'm sitting here listening to the infamous (to me anyway) Bruce Cockburn Banff concert, and I read on CBC.ca that Bernie Finkelstein is stepping down from True North Records.
Finkelstein is a Canadian music industry legend. I can't even begin to grasp what he did for Canadian music.
He's going to continue managing acts and overseeing Cockburn's publishing catalog (Cockburn was the first act signed to True North and remains with the label to this day), but it's still a little sad to see True North passed along to someone else.
